Where can I buy Port Salut?

Our Port Salut wedge is widely available in the following major supermarkets: Asda, Co-op, M&S (co-branded product), Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose stores (as well as their online stores) and Ocado. Port Salut slices are available in Waitrose, Horgans and Ocado.

Is Port Salut suitable for vegetarians?

Yes, our Port Salut wedge and slices are suitable for vegetarians.

Is Port Salut suitable for vegans?

No, Port Salut is not suitable for vegans as it is a dairy products.

Is Port Salut suitable for pregnant women?

Port Salut is a pasteurised product, therefore it is suitable for consumption during pregnancy, as part of a balanced diet.

How should I store Port Salut?

Port Salut is should be kept refrigerated between +2°C and +6°C. However, to allow its flavour to develop, we recommend you take it out of your fridge a couple of hours before you plan to serve it.

How long can I keep Port Salut after opening it?

Keep your Port Salut refrigerated and use it within 5-7 days of opening.

Can I use it for cooking?

Can you eat the Port Salut rind/is it toxic?

We do not recommend you eat the rind but it is not toxic and would pass through the digestive system if consumed. The rind is coated with a natural colour (beta carotene) and covered with an ultra-thin layer of food-grade polyvinyl.
